Free 15-Minute Discovery Call
If you are worried about gynaecological symptoms or symptoms related to menopause, a free 15-minute discovery call can be a helpful first step.
This short appointment allows you to talk through your concerns in a calm, supportive setting, ask any initial questions, and gain a clearer sense of whether a full consultation would be right for you.
Many women find that simply having the chance to speak to a specialist helps to build confidence, ease uncertainty, and provide reassurance about what to do next. It is designed to help put your mind at ease and give you a clearer understanding of the support available.
In this personal and insightful conversation, Consultant Gynaecologist Dr Kavita Verma speaks with Karen about her experience living with PMOS and the impact that receiving the right specialist care can have.
Karen describes Kavita as someone who “saved my life”, sharing her personal experience and explaining why finding a doctor who listens, investigates symptoms properly and provides appropriate support can be so important.
The name change from PCOS to PMOS reflects a broader understanding of the condition. PMOS is not simply a condition affecting the ovaries. It can involve hormonal, metabolic, reproductive and psychological health, with symptoms varying significantly from woman to woman.
“Kavita Saved My Life” Karen’s PMOS (PCOS) Story
PMOS, fertility and women's health
One of the most important aspects of PMOS is its potential effect on ovulation and fertility. Problems with regular ovulation can make it more difficult for some women to become pregnant, although PMOS does not mean that pregnancy is impossible. There are medical treatments available where fertility is affected.

What is PMOS?
PMOS can affect women in many different ways. Symptoms may include:
Irregular or absent periods
Problems with ovulation
Difficulty becoming pregnant
Weight gain or difficulty losing weight
Excess facial or body hair
Hair thinning or hair loss
Acne and oily skin
Tiredness
Changes in mood
Not every woman with PMOS will experience the same symptoms, which is why individual assessment and appropriate medical advice are important.
